Default Metal int. window trim color

I am in the process of refinishing the interior metal window trim on my 1929 Standard Fordor Sedan 165-B. The present color is black however the back side is a brown color that does not appear to be a primer as it polished to a nice gloss when a little wax was applied. My question is, would the trim color for my year and body style have been brown or black? If it was in fact brown, would the dash rail and gas tank also have been brown?

Much discussion on this. The correct color is Ford maroon. However there are several variations of this. So bottom line is go with what ever color you like.

The correct color for this year and body style is not Ford Maroon. It is Mocha Brown. The dash and gas tank are not done in this brown. Tank is lower body color and dash is upper body color.

See table on page 12-18 of the Restoration Guidelines, rev. 2016, for this information for all years and models.

Years ago WalMart use to carry a brown color in their line of spray can paint that was very close to the paint chips for the Mocha Brown. They no longer carry that color. I have not been able to find another color that was as close, but shopping in this area is very limited. Home Depot does not seem to have the same shade in their selection. Have not tried Lowes as nearest one is in Phoenix (100 miles away).
