Windshield molding 35Ford pickup
Can anyone tell me where I can locate the rubber molding that inserts into the windshield frame? or the size I need. The inner molding, I have the external molding from Bob Drakes. Thanks for the help. Art

Re: Windshield molding 35Ford pickup
My assumption is that you are looking for what is referred to as "Glass Setting Tape", this looks like friction tape but comes in different thickness to fill the gap between the glass and the metal frame. This should be part of the glass shops job when installing the glass in a windshield frame. If you are doing the job yourself just inquire at your local windshield supply or you might try to purchase some in bulk from Restoration Specialties, Windber , PA

Question. Those that have had the chrome trim on your windshield re-chromed, how did the chrome shop do the rest of the frame? Did they chrome it too or mask it off so it could be painted black?

Re: Windshield molding 35Ford pickup
35 pickup did not have a chrome plated windshield frame. The chrome frame was only on the 36 Deluxe pickup, and those are very rare as the cost of the accessory package was expensive, around $36.00 I believe it was back then. The entire frame would have to be chrome plated, then the inside part would need to be "roughed up" in order for the paint to stick.
