Default 1930 Pickup a.k.a. Marilyn

Hello everyone,

I picked up this clean little ride through Facebook. The ad had been up for 5 days so I drove 60 minutes last night to go look at her shortly after I saw the post.
-----------------------------------------------------
Here's what I know:

Matching numbers, clean title

100% metal, rust free (except underside surface rust).

Previous owner tore the engine apart for rebuild. Engine is fresh from the machine shop; needs assembly.

New firestone white walls

New bumpers

New water pump

New drip rails

New gauge bezel
--------------------------------------------------------------

My plans are to inventory all of the boxes coming with the deal. He said he bagged everything he removed. Then will be tackling the assembly of the engine.

I haven't decided if I'll just pay a machine shop (a few hundred bucks maybe?) to assemble the engine to save the time.

For now, I'd like to keep her as original as possible. Looking forward to discussion and asking a million questions along the way.

Also, what do you think is the ball park value on this truck?

Welcome to the Barn, looks like a fun pick-up. There are a couple running-driving pick-ups for sale in my area for $9000-$10000, but there is also one for $35000! engine work and brakes are expensive on these cars, I hope your engine turns out OK.

Welcome. Do you know who did the engine work? You may want to post some pictures of the engine, especially the bearings so we can take a look. The bed on your pickup
is from a Model T.

datzun86,

Do you know about Bert's in Denver ? They would be the best place for all Model A work and parts.

What a find!! Let me know when I can take that off your hands, I could take it to my son's place not far from you to reassemble. Make a great project to work on with him.

If you're serious, send me a message. I still haven't gone through all the original/new parts yet.

You have a good point. From my limited research the ID number is stamped on the (original) engine and on the frame below the passenger's cowl?

I suppose I will not be able to verify this before she gets towed away. I am mainly worried about a vin inspection to get a title in my name. I will definitely ensure the title matches something on the truck before I seal the deal on Saturday morning.

Any advice is appreciated.

Good deal, I love my little 1931 CCPU. When I bought my truck the engine was bad.

I really thought it was wood. Just painted metal though.
