Default I guess its time ???

2/16/2020 BUBBAS ???

Well I guess the time has come !! After almost 50 years of ignition service in one way or the other and 32 plus years servicing Bubbas Garage in the Alley at the Newport Hill Climb. I am retiring from the ignition business .

I retired from the Fuel Injection and diagnostic business a few years ago and moved the Ignition part back to my house at 5237 Ford Street.

My part time guy Terry has been with me 20 plus years . Over the years we have shipped thousands of rebuilt Ford V8 ignitions to customers all over the world. The last year has been rough on me as I do Dialysis three days a week . Also I am having a heart procedure in the next couple weeks to remove a 90% blockage .

With both of these issues I cant get to the shop other than a few hours per week , and its time to really work on my health . I have a plan and will work the plan.

Orders that are in the shop will get done ( most are apart and clean thanks to Terry !) but we will no longer take additional orders.

We ( Terry and I) will do some inventory ( I have tons ) over time and offer it for sale, however thats a project down the road...

I would refer Mike at 3rd Generation , Charlie NY (ford barn ) and Skip Haney for distributor work to be done..They all do great work!!

I do plan on monitoring all emails and my web site will still be a informational site for the Early V8 Flathead stuff. I will do my best to answer all questions and enjoy doing that as usual. I also plan on writing some advanced trouble shooting test procedures as time allows....

Jim, THANK you and your team for all you've done to literally keep the "spark" of the old car hobby alive. You have helped thousands and your future writings will keep up the tradition. Focus on your health and feel better. All the best.

Prioritizing one's time is most important and I am glad you have given the old Ford community the time you did. Thanks for that and take care.

Sorry to hear but you have to take care of yourself first and always. The Chevy distributor conversion you did for me several years ago is still going strong. Thanks for all you have done for the hobby.

Jim you are creating a void that will never be filled. As a mentor, friend , vendor and
customer it's been an all positive relationship with you. I still wear the T shirt you sent

me, any XL's left, I'll have a check in the mail pronto, name your price.
All the best,
Charlie ny

Jim, Sorry to see you go but, that is the cost of getting old. I have had many jobs in my time but I finally found something I am really good at......being retired and doing nothing.
May God bless and keep you. And thanks for all of your outstanding years at repairing our old Fords!!

I also want to thank you for a good running distributor, and wish you health and enjoyment in retirement.

(I shoulda sent in more distributors for rebuild when I had the chance.....)

God bless Jim. It's a shame someone can't continue the business but hopefully the people mentioned can take their share of the load. You need to only have one job and that job is to look after your own health.

A sad time for us Jim. Most of us old flathead guys are getting used to living with increasing limitations, as our bodies begin to let us down. Nothing is forever, but you enter this stage of life with thousands of people who are grateful for you and Terry taking good care of us with dignity and respect. Hope to see continuing posts from you. God bless you, Russ/40.

PS. I want an XL t-shirt also. Pleeze!

Bubba. I've never met you but have enjoyed your posts and a couple of phone conversations over the years. Apatchy has enjoyed all of the extra sparks your distributor work has given him. Enjoy your retirement and be CERTAIN to follow your doctor's orders. I lost a friend who didn't.

Prayers.

Jim,
You've been a great friend and a great customer. I wish you the best and hope we can still have our frequent talks when I get all wound up (you know what I mean!).

You've been a true asset to the hobby and as Charlie has said it will be a void that cannot be filled.

Step back and admire the impact you have had in this hobby, huge..
