35 pickup hood
I need a hood for a 1935 pickup. My question is do other years fit as well?
I know that rootlieb's catalog lists that hood from 35-37. I'm going to Hershey next week, hope I can find one there. thanks |

Re: 35 pickup hood
Pretty sure '35 and '36 will interchange, although there are aesthetic differences...not sure of '37 though.

Re: 35 pickup hood
Not sure if '36' will be the same length as the '35', due to the more upright Grille on the '36'. Also the emblem is mounted forward on the side panels on the '36' and in the center of the '35'.
Lawson or Jerry will know. |

Re: 35 pickup hood
I think the hood is the same, just the grille is more shallow to the front. The fenders have differences but are also interchangeable between 35-36 pickup.

Yes, difference in 35 v 36/7 fenders is the cut out for the bumper irons...35 is "square" and 36/7 are a slot. The grille on the '35 is as you mentioned, shorter?..might be the word, or maybe easier to say the '36 is deeper...but both mount in the same place, so hoods should interchange w/o issue-sans purists |

Re: 35 pickup hood
The hoods are not the same, but they will interchange. 37 hood is completely different. In other words the 35 and 36 hoods are the same size and the latch's are the same. The 37 is not the same size and is shaped a tad different.

Re: 35 pickup hood
1935-36 Pickup hoods do interchange, though the side panels have a different louver design.
Rootlieb 1935-36 pickup hoods are great quality and fit, HOWEVER they use the passenger style center hinge and they do not make stock side panels. Obviously not an option for a "correct" restoration. Perfect for a street rod or nice driver. |
