Default 32 Cabriolet woodgrain pattern

Does anyone have a picture of a correct 32 cabriolet woodgrain pattern? I see lots of different patterns out there, most correct seems to be a "walnut burl" as I am told. After market manufacturers of repo dashes only say 3 or 5 window or sedans are a pattern they have to compare. Any Cab owners have a picture they can send so my woodgrain guy can get it close to the original pattern? Its not a show car but do want to get it authentic. Would Roadsters be the same pattern?

Thanks !

You are in luck. In Dave Rehor's 32 book, there is a terrific photo (B & W) of a cabriolet front belt rail showing the woodgrain pattern. To the other part of your question, no, different models had different patterns and some changed depending on what point in the production year. Remember this is 32 stuff. everything was different and changed throughout the year.

I should have added that if it is a very early production '32 cabriolet only the upper portion would have been burl grain and the lower portion straight mahogany grain as shown in the photos below of a mint original dash (which will also give you a good idea as to the base color, unlike the black and white photo).

David G and others- Our VIN shows the car is an August production. Therefore, would the dash be walnut burl and the header, windshield and top door trim pieces be a straight grained pattern? Or all pieces walnut burl? Or ?

David,

I really like the U.K. '32 steering wheels.

Yes, having just put 1500 kilometres on a car with that same steering wheel in Sweden, I would like to find one too.
