Default Laminated safety glass?

I have noticed that the plastic laminated safety glass I have used several times over the years has a hazy appearance when the sun light hits it at a certain angles. Is that the nature of the beast or is it just cheap glass?

Was out for a drive this evening and I really noticed how foggy my new glass looked when the sun hit it. Hasn't anybody else noticed this? I purchased the glass from a outfit that has a good reputation.

I'm not sure. You talking lexan race stuff? I purchased some coke bottle tinted glass for my 38t. Sides and back. Hope it doesn't go bad, been 2 yrs.

Got laminated glass from a local shop, been four years now and looks as good as new.

I have had two different windshields in the 19 years I have owned my truck. Both of them looked foggy when the sun light hits them at certain angles. Apparently its not a wide spread problem as no one else has complained. I wonder if my prescription polarized sun glasses make the problem worse?

Is it clear glass or have a tint? Smoke grey glass can have that appearance in the sun.

Polarized sun glasses might have an effect. When you wear polarized sun glasses some newer vehicle rear windshields have a checker board pattern. At least I've seen it anyway.

Ford used to polarize the tint on its glass but I think that came a long long after the flathead era.

The old original stuff would go bad if it set out in the sun too long. UV light is hard on stuff.
