I had one in my black Tudor in the 1990s.
One day I went into second gear and it split in two. I was pleased that it did not lay my hand open, but never considered having another one......

Thanks for all the replies. I was surprised to find the glass knobs were available in the 30's as I thought they were just a recent fad. I learn something new every day.

I like the looks of them but I prefer the black stock knobs, keep it original and it will never go out of style.

Interesting posts, just today I came across this picture of a Ford dealership here in New Zealand taken in 1935. Notice the bear knobs under the glass counter.

I have shifter knobs (have a Mitchell OD with one too) that are made from polished rocks. Those could have been made who knows when.
