I suppose one COULD bolt-on all the accessory pieces (cam, timing cover, distributor, intake, heads, etc.) from a '48 and earlier engine and then resort to using a generator-mounted fan like the '36s and '37s had originally. DD

That's the approach I would use, including the heads, LOL.
