Default Non-return valve…HELP!

Dear Friends!

I decided to install a non-return valve to my flathead. But, i have a doubt if the valve it is in the correct place connected. I attach a pic where I installed.

What do you think? Is this correct or the non-return valve must be installed after electric pump.

I need your opinion.
Thank all

Hary

Hary,

Why do you need the non return valve? Is this to assist cold start ?

This is the actual fuel circuit.
I installed a non-return valve to keep the fuel in the pipe. I wanted to solve the problem that when I start the car the fuel pipe was empty, so I have to let the electric pump run for a while so as the fuel reaches the carburetor again.

If your electric pump is operating correctly, no "non return" valve should be necessary. Turn it on before starting and let it pump for a minute or two to refill the carb. Then your mechanical pump should carry the load. The reason I use the electric pump is to replenish the fuel in the carb bowl which has been lost to evaporation caused by underhood heat following a long drive and days of parking. I'm not sure why you have a pressure gauge in the fuel line.

I don't have the mechanical pump installed. My electrical pump gives 7 PSI and I only need between 1,5 and 3,5 PSI. I installed a pressure gauge in order to see the pressure while regulating it with the valve before it and to avoid the over flooding the carburetor.

I think I made a mistake installing the non return valve. Didn't I?
Thanks for your answer!

Hary, maybe you be the judge on this one . Is the car running ok? One way valves are not a common fit on vehicles, guess if I was to put one in it would go roughly where you have it. You should only need to prime you fuel pump for about 15 seconds for it to do its job , more-so if its pumping up there at 7 psi. You can generally hear it change sound when the bowls full.
