1940 ford Cowl vent handle differences??
Can any of the fellow FordBarners please, tell me why there is two different length versions of the 1940 cowl vent handle, as used by Ford in the sedan/coupe bodies,, Was it because of the heater clearance issues. Reason is I have a sedan down here in Oz, and it used the short version as per the pic..A pic of the long version is shown for comparison. TIA

I "think" it's if you had a radio or not. I have a heater and use the lever on the left.

The one in your posted photos to the left is a VERY early design here in the USA. I can't speak for exported vehicles.
The two different designs had NOTHING to do with whether or not a radio and / or heater were installed.
