Default Model A ford Motor mount

Hello,

I have seen a number of model A Ford front motor mounts where the two springs are together as one on ebay. I have one where the springs are independent of each other (stock). Was this a later improvement? Just interested in the history of when it came about. Whats the story?

Thanks,
Marty
