why do they call it a/the "choke" they should of called it "The fuel suction knob". I think we need more politicle correctness with our flatty's BIOG MIKE

Its okay, they didn't have "political correctness" when the flathead was made so its grandfathered in.

They call it a choke because you choke off the air supply. Really doesn't have anything to do with fuel suction. Less air + the same amount of fuel = richer mixture = easier cold starting.
