I know Vintique reproduces these in chrome.. but I'm trying to find an original painted one.. and by the way, I know I should have went to the Swap meet first... but I just felt like breaking the rules.

I bought one's like that for my '35 4 dr sedan from Bob Drake. Passenger cars and commercial vehicles had different length door hinges, making it necessary for suppliers to carry both types.

I had a '49 Ford Pickup and I bought two on Amazon for $ 15 each unpainted. I believe the company was Grote.

The Ford ones are too small to fit my Chrysler 2 5/8" hinge. I have been searching for an adjustable one. I'm going to try to make one that will be a simple threaded rod with a flange on top of the hinge and curved for ease of view.

You looking for just the mirror or do you need the arm as well? I've got a black 4" mirror that I took off my '39 p/u if you just need the mirror head.

I found mine here in the swap, I put a wanted ad for one and had one within a week. The arm was original ford and the mirror was vintique, I swapped out the Phillips head screws for some slotted screws. I do not understand why vintique cannot use the original style screws.

Felix, in the absence of finding exactly what you are looking for, you could fabricate one. I had a similar problem with my 32 Cabriolet. The mirror head is stainless, painted black. The arm a piece of 5/16" diameter steel bar, whittled down to size at the mirror end.
