Default Drake shocks and Sway Bar kits

We are wanting to fit a full set of Drake shock kits with the rear sway bar to a 39 Merc ,looking for the easiest option of his selections, like shackle mount or perch mount . opinions appreciated .

if you have a '39 Merc I would make sure a Ford shock kit and sway bar will fit. to my knowledge the frame on a '39-'40 Merc is very different from a Ford frame.

I put the kit on my 39 P/U and very happy with the fit and finish. I spoke with a fella in their tech dept. before I bought and after the conversation about my application based on the components claims for a truck I placed the order.

The directions were great and on my truck it was a good project start to finish, let us know how you make out.

I did change the shipped shocks in the kit with air shocks and that was the way to go for my application. You want those shocks to work @ there mid-point, the adjustable air shocks I set for about 45 psi are perfect for my 1/2 ton stance and the really great roads we have here in new england

I have Drakes' Sway bar kit on my 40 Sedan. It works well. I dont know if the Mercury rear ends are wider than the Fords.

Ted you might also try Chassis Engineering, I got a front set and sway bar for 39 Standard. It was a great bolt on unit with good results.

Did not Chassis Engineering close or did someone buy them out? I have their shock kit on the front my 46 coupe. It uses the spring shackle as the lower mount

Chassis Engineering was bought out by someone, I think it was Heidt's. There is more information on the H.A.M.B. (Which is more of a "Hot Rod" site that the Barn.)

My brother was in the same class as Gary at Olympia High School. Name of the group was taken from the telephone exchange in Olympia---FL.
