Default Front shocks ?

How tight should a front shock be ? I have one that I could hardly move and one that has about one inch free play either way. Should the shock absorbers have play at all ?

There should be no free play, check the fluid level, if low fill and operate to both extremes to bleed ---- properly operating it should be easier to lift arm up, very hard and slow to push down

If you look at the shock rebuilding and testing pages in the service bulletins you will get a good idea of what proper operating is

And the unanswerable question is what fluid is in there now. Different ones shouldn't be mixed and rebuilders have their own favorites. Smell and feel is the pass word.
