Re: 35/36 front fender mask
I retired from the auto body business 18 years ago. I had a customer who insisted on using a bra on the front of his 280 ZX. I told him not to use the bra on the fresh paint on the nose of his car for 6 months to a year, for which he paid me no heed. After 6 weeks he complained that the paint that I put on his car was no good. On examination I could see the outline of the bra on his car from the paint that had gone bad. I again informed him that paint should dry for 6 months to a year to allow the thinners and reducers to out gas, otherwise the gases will push the pain from the metal. Maybe with todays better paint and a bake dry oven this will prevent this problem, but its your car, your paint and your gamble.

I've seen bras leave an abrasion mark at the edge where it vibrates in the wind.

Yeah, you can even see bra lines on your wife/girl friend when she takes her bra off. Cars and gals both look better without them. Dirty old man ain't I? LOL

They look far worse than any paint chips.

I dare say that Lawson would never be guilty of comparing a natural woman to a paint chip,
but I believe that if he did, he would opt for the woman. Let's hear it for Lawson!

Re: 35/36 front fender mask
Forget the bra/mask and just use good quality wax on the front. My car has been on the road since '95 and I have driven thousands of miles in it and there is hardly a chip or blemish in the paint. Of course, I have a very good paint job. But I find that a heavy duty coat of wax does the trick for me.

JJ, Come on now, the rest of it? Which do you find to be the best quality lotion for a girl friend with no chips or blemishes?

Re: 35/36 front fender mask
I would go without the bar/mask, do not ever put one on the front of a hood, I did that works ok till I drove through rain for hours, the heat from the motor caused the paint to fog this was on a new car. Harold central coast Ca.
