Aluminum head ID
Picked these up at a local swap meet. Only ID on the is number 95. I know there were a lot of after market brands. I hope someone can ID these for me. I plan to try them for fit in the near future.

Re: Aluminum head ID
That looks like 9.5 CR, can't see the combustion chamber, so?? If so they are pretty useless.

Re: Aluminum head ID
Boy I hope they are not 9.5 CR. No fins ground off. I looked at them along side some EAB's and the chamber looked to be close. Ron back in the day did they mark heads with CR?,
Thanks Pete |

Re: Aluminum head ID
Could those heads be Thickstun's with out the covers? They look way too squared off in profile to be a production style head. all the production heads I've seen are always more rounded on the edges.

Here is an Offenhauser pair with fins removed; seller calls them "cheater heads". Maybe if the tech crew was real dopey. Didn't Edelbrock stamp heads with 85 or 95 BITD, denoting compression ratio with stock bore/stroke? |

Re: Aluminum head ID
Stock cars sometimes ran this type head without the fins to slip it by tech. With the right setup, 9.5 ratio would pretty potent coming out of the corners. Original Navarro heads had the compression ratio stamped right in that spot.

Re: Aluminum head ID
Yes many heads had something like 8F 8.5M on them. Might as well CC them.
