Today we held the Vanquish Vapor Lock Tour and we did in fact vanquish vapor lock! While we had a small contingent (honey do's knocked out several would be participants in the last minute), we did have (a now new member of the Cigar City Flatheads show up for the fun) Dick just moved to Florida from NC. three weeks ago, he'd been following the postings here on the FordBarn and decided to come and see what we are all about. He has a '39 Ford Coupe powered by a nicely set up 8BA with a T-5 and Ford 9 inch to round out the drivetrain. In attendance for the cruise were Steve, in his '55 F-100, Don in his '47 Pickup, Dick in his '39 Coupe and my wife and me in our '51 F-1. The weather was beautiful, sunshine, low humidity and temps in the mid to upper 80's. We met at the Flying J Truck Stop and cruised up to SR 50 to do breakfast at the Cracker Barrel, where we were joined by Mike. After breakfast, we cruised to Dade City for the car show. Here are a few photos of the fun.

Here is the Flathead that powers Dick's '39 Coupe

There were a bunch of nice vehicles but not too many running Flatheads...
This was (in my opinion) the most unusual vehicle at the show, a '33 Dodge pickup,

Powered by a Ford Flathead...

I guess, if you can't Dodge em or Ram em... You put a Ford Flathead V8 in them...

I had a great time on the Vanquish Vapor Lock Tour. The best part of having an old car is cruising with like minded fellows. Thanks for letting me tag along.

Dick, it was great to meet you and I'm glad you had a great time and also a safe return home. Keep in-touch and look forward to seeing you and that beautiful 39 sometime down the road. Steve

Dick, I'm glad you took the time to join us on the tour, and, like Steve, I'm looking forward to having more Flathead Fun with you. Welcome to the Cigar City Flatheads. Vic

Bill, we miss you too... You really should try to make it to the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville, Georgia in October, that'll be the next Cigar City Flatheads event (unless something else comes up sooner). We do our best to have fun with Flatheads, but you already knew that. Hope to see you and Lee Ann soon. Vic
