Default New to the Barn

So I just registered but don't know this works.

Anyway, I hang out on a few of the other boards and wanted to see what kind of info or help I can get with my '29 model A.
I gotta rebuild her and stay stock until I can get it registered with plates then it's fun time.

Welcome Viva,

I'm glad to hear you're going to keep her stock. When it comes to help with a stock setup as Henry built them, you have come to the right place. The guys here can help you with any problem you might have. But if your intention is "rod" it once you've got it registered you won't find many friends on this fourm.

You can have just as much fun with her stock as you can "rodding" her. If you want to tear through the countryside at top speed a hotrod will do it, but if you want to enjoy the countryside and it's scenery, then Henry's original Lady is the vehicle of choice.

You can get the best help here on stock A's, and while fantastic modified help can be found here, the sister site HAMB, with it's larger membership is an additional site to help with the rodding.

Welcome and we wait to help you.

Thanks guys
Yeah I'm a member over on the HAMB as well it's good to beable to pull informaton from both sides of the house.

So for now the "Keep her stock" urges are fighting with the "Hot Rod the hell out of it" tendencies.
Stock is winning so far.

My suggeston is to do it stock and drive it for several months, yes several months. If you don't get more enjoyment out of driving the car, "like the good old days" or all the waves and smiles you get from the stock car, then rod it.

The old cars you drive, there are procedures to start it, change gears, adjust this and that as you are the master of the car. A modern car and most rods I've seen you just go along for the ride steering it around the streets if you know what I mean.

Well I have started to tear her down so I can get to know every inch of it and then build it back up stock. This is going to be my second ground up rebuild. The first was a rodded T bucket that was already 1/5 way built when I got it. That was 15 years ago so now I'm hopeing the little bit of wisdom and patience I've aquired will keep me straight with this one...
I hope

Here she is sitting in the garage.
Just gotta get some buddies over to help lift the body.

Better yet, sell it to someone that appreciates a nice stock Model A, and buy a project rod that someone never finished. There's plenty of them out there and hopefully another Model A won't be destroyed.

This sounds like good advice, plenty of unfinished cars out there so you will effectively get 2 cars for the price of one, work wise at least, just not owning them both at the same time.

I appreciate anything stock until evolution eventually takes it's course.

Not to start another stock vs hotrodder debate but
they are never really destroyed. They are just remade in the image of thier owners.
I have buddies that drive complete stockers and I have alot of fun riding in them and they always have a huge smile on thier face after a ride in a well built hotrod.

I'm just sayin.
