Default 1942-48 gas tanks, all the same?

I have an opportunity to pick up a gas tank from a Woodie around my year. Its in great shape, and since I don't have the cash to buy a new one, this looks like it would fit perfectly. My questions is, are all the tanks the same from 42-48? I don't have either tank in front to me but from what I remember, it sure looks like it.
