Default burnt rotor

Hello. Anybody have there rotor tab burn through?

Yes.It happens when there is no contact between the rotor and the contact in the cap.It will still work,but it will have to arc until it burns out like yours.When you set the cap on top of the body,and push it down,you should feel the spring pressure from that tab on the rotor.It's very slight.

Yep, what Keith said. I have installed a round MoPar alternator brush in a worn out cap and it works fine, but best to just order a new cap and check for pressure as Keith said.
