40 door weatherstrip
I am ready to install the upper door weatherstrip on my tudor. First I assume in installs on the door and starts just above the top hinge. I need to confirm which way it goes. There is a raised lip on the narrow side. Does the weatherstrip install with the wide side vertical and the lip down & out (photo #2) or does the wide section lay horizontal with the lip in & up (Photo #1)?
It neither is correct please show me what is correct. I have another old door and it doesn't show any sign of the door having upper seals. Thanks |

Re: 40 door weatherstrip
Not sure on a '40 but my '41 should have the weatherstrip on the body, I believe. but I had better luck with the top piece on the door. Wide narrow lip, against the door top in the pic, should be up either way you install it. lay it from R to L. check catalogs. they usually have a pic of the striping.

Re: 40 door weatherstrip
Here's the way mine looks on 40 coupe.
Pictorials from Drake's very early catalog help clarify. |
