Cup holder
I like the metal cup holders that bolt to the dash rail but I don't like them in that position so I modified one that now bolts to the seat riser. This way it is hidden and not a safety issue for the passenger.

Re: Cup holder
I'd like to find one/make one/modify one that is removable at shows. Just don't care for modern day stuff on Sarah that can't be removed and hidden away. I use a 1930s lunch box to hide my MickyDs. Extreme???? I guess so. I would really like a cup holder...........without marrying one.

Re: Cup holder
I bought a set of 4 plastic cup holders at Wallmart for about $2.00. They hang on the edge of the door, and removed quick and easy. I lined the part that wraps around the door with felt.

Re: Cup holder
Removable Floor Mounted Model A Cup Holder?
1. Securely mount any conceived type of cup holder on a 3/4" thick x 11-1/4" wide plank. 2. Cut a half circle centered on front end of plank to neatly fit around the base of the gear shift to avoid having the plank slide to one side. 3. Cut length of plank to fit snugly between the half circle at the gear shift end ...... and to fit snugly at the rear, adjacent to the front of the front seat's metal frame. 4. If one is an aggressive driver, to avoid tipping over and spills, add a securely attached transverse 1 x 2 x 16" long under the rear of the aforementioned plank .... like in the shape of a ("T"). 5. If so desired, cover raw wood with adhesively applied Wal-Mart's thin floor mat, wool-like material sold in rolls next to their vehicle floor mats. |

Re: Cup holder
Hi 58,
Your safety concerns and sharing your thoughts on Model A safety are commendable. For some reason, it always appeared that it may be just a tad bit unsafe after a mild Model A collision, to enter an Emergency Room with the possibility of wearing a metal dash mounted cup holder on one's forehead. |

Re: Cup holder
My wife is too pretty to wind up with that thingimplanted in her forehead. But being in Texas we need our liquids in the summer. We are doing our first tour this weekend, the Texas Tour. Figured I needed to get that modification done!

Re: Cup holder
Did the same thing on my 31 coupe. I never have liked that thing on the dash rail as I thought it was too dangerous.

Re: Cup holder
I have been useing the large rubber counsel on the floor that holds two cups plus other stuff. It was bought from Snyders or Macs. Works great. No safety concerns. Wayne

Re: Cup holder
Made these out of 1/2" X1/8" strap, 1/4" bolt and a couple of 1/4" nuts.

Re: Cup holder
Great job Maclab58. I think this is an ideal position for the drinks. Especially on long tours.
Now just use the Yeti or Yeti knock off so that the hot floor doesn't melt your ice! These knock offs are great, just as good as the Yeti, and get one soon because apparently Yeti is suing walmart because they are so similar. https://www.walmart.com/ip/RTIC-Cool...ttle/175922684

Re: Cup holder
I have a cup holder on the end of each arm. That's all I need.
