Looks pretty good for sitting out under a tarp. OH, you're in SoCal.
Yah, up here in the rain belt, the paint would be blistered. Saw a 53 Ford at our swap , with 12,000mi. Under a tarp the last two years, outside. Ouch.
Nice find, if you like hanging out with other model A's (touring, and what not) find a local club. Or not. But they are a fun car, either way, enjoy!

You are starting out with what looks like a great car. So many guys have started with a lot less. Good luck with your new project!

Here's the video of the engine running, does it sound normal?

Sounds like it may be out of time a bit. Also may want to check the timing gear. The noise that you hear, due to the fact it is not consistent, may be the timing gear. Look for some ways to check this here on the Barn by searching for info on timing gear.

Might be timing gear...try shorting out each plug to see if the noise stops.

Thanks for the replies, I'll check the timing and timing gear and see if that fixes it! It may be awhile, but I'll post the results when I'm done.
