Default Wiring harness question

I am planning on rewiring my car and have a question regarding which wiring harness to use. I currently have the hidden turn signal kit with the switch mounted on the shifter, utilizing the cowl lamps as the turn signals and would like to keep it this way. Which wiring harness should I get to keep this set up this way? I purchased the one bulb with cowl light, but I'm questioning if this is correct.

Thanks for your help!

Default Re: Wiring harness question

If you mean the standard one-bulb harness, it will be ok forward of the lighting switch, but the wiring to the rear needs modification for an extra wire to the right stop lamp, plus the brake switch will have to be connected through the signal logic rather than direct to the lamps.

Vendors sell special harnesses for the signal kits they sell, but I haven't looked at them very closely.

Was browsing through Mac's and now I know what you're talking about -

https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_m...signal&x=0&y=0

6V positive ground or 12V negative.

These are intended for the bumper mount lamps they sell just below those listings. They are independent circuits and require no modification of the main wiring harness. You could use the cowl lamps for signaling, but you wouldn't have any forward-facing parking lights; the cowl lamp pigtail out of the lighting switch would be unused. If you're set on cowl lights for signaling you would need either two-bulb reflectors and harness or the cowl light modification kit -

-for forward parking lights.
