Model A Tools
Thought there might be a few Fordbarners interested in looking at a couple of pictures of different wrenches used for tightening, or holding the square head on the main bearing cap bolts. The first offset wrench shown in the attached pictures, has the Ford script along with the tool number 3Z647. This wrench was probably issued to the dealers for mechanical repairs in shop, or possibly was made available to the vehicle customers across the parts counter. The handle of this wrench is narrowed down at the end, as shown in the picture, but is also tapered and thinner on the end portion, to either be used as a short pry bar to move the crank, or possibly it could have been used as a tire iron also.
The second wrench shown in the next two pictures, manufactured by a separate company, can also be used to torque and hold the main bearing bolts. |

Re: Model A Tools
The 3Z-647 is Model T for sure, I have several of them. The second looks to be Model T also, but I woould have to check my books to tell for sure. Not sure what the 3rd one is. Rod

Re: Model A Tools
The third view is of the second wrench. Darn.....I was hoping they were both used for the Model A for assembly, or for the service garages.
