Click on the words "user cp" in the black band in the header on the left. When the screen opens, on the left side click "edit avatar" proceed from there to load your photo.

It's called an "Avatar", while you are logged in, click on User CP up on the left in the black bar. Once that box opens click on "edit avatar" and a box opens, click on "use custom avatar", then click on the "choose file" button. The tricky part is mentioned at the bottom of the box
Quote:
The maximum size of your custom image is 160 by 160 pixels or 19.5 KB
. It's a pretty small file. If you have a picture you'd like to use and don't know how to edit it, let me know and I'll help you with it.

BTW, User CP is not very descriptive. My guess is that CP = Control Panel. There is so much room to the right of User CP that it seems like it would be easy to spell out User Control Panel.

Also, the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) tab on the same line as User CP is a great resource for answering questions about the site.

My bad. I meant to the LEFT of User CP. Since I'm not using a laptop, however, there may not be much space there either.

FYI as a side note for those with poor eyesight: Hold the left CTRL key on the keyboard and tap the + or - keys to zoom in and out. You can also use the scroll wheel in the mouse to do the same while holding CTRL. Once you get it zoomed enough just release the CTRL key.

Wow! Didn't know that - just tried it - so much easier using the wheel - Thanks for the tip!

don't be afraid to be curious and click on the various components of the site just to see what is there. Experiment a little. This approach is typically necessary when using computers.

RE: original response in #2....not sure what an "avatar" is? Remember Google is your best friend EVER. Google it, and get this

"an icon or figure representing a particular person in computer games, Internet forums, etc."

Be curious. Look around. Google stuff. You'll be surprised what you will discover
