Default Ford model 59 carb rebuild

I have a model 59 carb that needs to be rebuilt. The parts catalogs such as Mac and C&G list carbs by model year of the vehicle. I believe that my 59 flathead to be a common replacement engine from the mid 40s. Regardless using the year of the body doesn't seem like a reliable way to id a carb rebuild kit. I can call the parts houses in the morning for clarification. But also want to ask this forum if carb rebuild kits are best obtained somewhere else.

I've bought carb and fuel pump kits from John Plaskan Antique Auto Parts 813-713-5820.
Very helpful, give him a call, only costs a dime for the call, oh wait, that was 50 years ago.

Thanks Ralph and Charlie, I'll call. If I ordered today I bet I get it in hand before Christmas. I just had a US Postal service delivery this morning at 6:30 AM!

Is the Holley 94 and the Ford model 59 the same carburetor?

Found this interesting article.

http://www.hotrod.com/how-to/engine/...94-carburetor/

It would appear that the Ford 59 is a Holley 94.

I haven't used them but this place appears to have very deep knowledge and inventory:

If you go to an O'Reilley's auto parts you can get Walker carb kit # 15302B. It has all of the parts to cover these carbs from 1939 thru 1956. Parts are also alcohol resitant.
You can also get it from Amazon for $26.26. Saves money compared to Daytona and others, plus is good quality. I have used many of these kits.

Thanks guys. I ordered from: http://dickshotrodcarbs.com/home.html. Their kits are alcohol resistant as well. The guy in charge is a hobbiest and quite knowledgeable. I'm glad that so many sources exist.

The Ford model 59 is or was manufactured by Holley and is the same as a Holley 94. After searching many websites and talking to Dick, I now have a good feel for what I have.
