Default Wazzup with this serial number?

"A" block, definitely not a restamp! I know small bore engines were prefixed AF or AAF, but I've never seen one start with an R.

The small bores were used on both left and right drive vehicles, but to my limited knowledge the engine numbers themselves never reflected this. A and AA indicated a different trans/clutch.

Was there possibly a brief time when a small bore engine dressed for RHD was so numbered? Possibly Canadian production? What say ye experts?

Mike,

Is it a "<>" diamond block?
"RF"....Richmond Ford Plant,...is my thought.

That number 9 looks very different than the font I've seen on A blocks. It does, however, look similar to the "6" on this Model B block;

I would guess that it's a Replacement engine made after Model A production.

Those don't look like Ford font. Letters are larger than the numbers.
