Sounds like a grand time.
That's a solid 12 hours from Albion PA.
How many vehicles are expected?
Regards,
Chris

I haven’t been to a big meet since Tulsa sometime in the 70’s. We are driving one of Avis’ rentals to the meet. I don’t think the 36 would make it up and back, especially around Atlanta.

Chris, there are currently 127 vehicles registered. Your truck would make 128.

Is the swap meet there very big? I am wondering if its worth a trip just for that.

Its a 12+ hour drive for me from here in North Florida. I was "hoping" to bring a car to show BUT extrogenous events precluded that from happening. I am still going though...It would be worth the trip IF you can swing it, even without your "BB". This will be my 7th (????) National/Grand National.

If I keep my Diesel Truck under 60 MPH I get better fuel mileage.Pulling a car trailer with the 32 in it should not be to bad. I guess we will eat Peanut and Jelly Sandwichs to cut the cost down. Its 12 hours also unless I get lost coming down there. So leave the light on.

Old redneck,
Humm your about the same distance as me. Not sure where your at? Didn't Google it yet. Would be kind of neat to travel with some one that was heading to the same place too.
Still thinking on this end!
Humm 127 cars. That's a pretty nice show!
I was thinking the same on the peanut butter and jelly sandwiches too!
Regards,
Chris

Looking forward to visiting with old friends! Will be leaving with a small caravan early Wednesday morning. Bringing my '32 Standard Cpe. Hasn't been out in a while.

Stay Safe!

Well Pat my 32 is a Trailer Queen on this trip. It would be a lot cheaper to drive the 32. I have 3A's and they will tow me 200 miles if I break down. I have not started my 32 in two years. Waiting for a Battery to come in the mail. My Nickel plated parts came today. Hope Battery comes Monday.I look forward in seeing you. The first meet I came to you went out of your way to show me what going on there. I never forgot that. Then you said now get in your JUNK and go home. [ Just Kidding]. How is Penny Candy doing?

I'm going to be there in my 40 coupe. Never been to a national event, looking forward to a good time and hopefully it's a pretty good swap meet too.

Well, I only go to swap meets anymore, don't go to shows that don't have them. And I don't really enjoy driving anymore, so.....

This last two weeks I came down with Vertigo. I am the town drunk my balance is not very good. My wife won't drive the Diesel Truck with the car trailer on it. Plus the Doctor said to stay home and rest. When I work under the 32 I get so dizzy and can't stand up. When I do get up I half to hold on something to not fall down. It takes about half a hour before feeling better. Doc. says inter ear problem? I half to go and lay down for a couple of hours.I ordered a new Ford Scrip Battery came last Monday. Guess what No good. I charge it up and still won't start. I took the Battery out of my 40 Ford and the 32 started right up no problem. $377.50 shot. Now if I was able to go to the National Meet I would half to buy a Battery which I would half to take a deduction big time. I have bought 4 of those Battery and not had much luck with any of them. Take outs of pictures at the meet so I can what going on.

Sorry to hear of your problems. I have an idea of what you're going through, as I have problems with balance and no feeling in my feet. Funny thing, is that the best car for me to drive is my '51, as I can glance down and see the pedals and know where I'm at. The rest of my cars have swing pedals that are obscured up under the dash and not easy to see.

I learned a long time ago the reproduction batteries are crap. I bought three of them one time for my Corvettes and el Camino, and only one lasted more than 2 years.

Optima's for me. 14 years for the first one and 13 years so far on this one. The only thing reproduction batteries are good for in my opinion is to gut the case and use them to put an Optima in.

Where did you get your Optima's battery? I could use a couple of them. It sure fun getting old. But I won't give up. I wanted to take the 32 to the meet and see what I need to correct it. I am trying to keep it original. I guess I will half to wait another year if I am above ground. I would like to drive my 32 to the National Meet. My 32 has a Rumble Seat which I don't like. I rather have a trunk to put our luggage and tools in. So be it I guess.

I got my last Optima from Amazon.com. It seems that there were problems with some of the other vendors not standing behind the warranty. They are expensive, but what isn't these days. $225 for 15 years? I'll take it.
