Default Not Ford flathead but interesting 3D technology

The link below is to an article on 3D printing used to recreate an engine block. Maybe one day this will be used on our old Fords.

That's fantastic! Recreated history! Not likely for a flathead, though, the guy said you'd need a big fat wallet.

Cool story, I'm glad that saved that car.

Interestingly, There is a metal 3D printer manufacturer here southwest Virginia. the machines are huge compared to plastic 3D printers. One of the uses considered is producing modern engine blocks. The metal printer can allow for different metals to be printed in the same part, such as an aluminum block with steel cylinder walls. Only issue is the time it takes to make the parts.
