Car wax & car polish
Hi Gents
What’s the difference between these two?

Re: Car wax & car polish
Generally polish refreshes the surface and wax seals and protects.
But there are combination polish/waxes that do the same thing in one step.

Re: Car wax & car polish
Car polishing happens before the wax job. The polish takes off contaminents and dead paint. Some will clay bar the car before polishing to get even a better looking shine. There are different grits of polish to use depending upon the condition and type of the paint or clearcoat. It is rated much like sandpaper.
Wax is a sealant which is of course applied after the polishing is completed. It is the protective layer between the elements and your car's paint. This is just a quick explanation. Google "car polish" for professional explanation. |

Re: Car wax & car polish
Want a GREAT car polish? Try Mothers Mag and Aluminum polish is amazing. Also great for those modern clear coats and dull plastic headlight covers. It is basically a very fine grit compound.

Here is a link to Maguire's, where there are lots of videos. I don't have a preference for suppliers, and have use several different brands over the years with varying success.
