Default 1931 roadster rear window frame gasket.

I bought a new rear window frame from Bratton's that their online catalog states includes a gasket. They may have changed the gasket inclusion by now because I had contacted them saying I did not receive said gasket but instructions on material to make one out of like electrical tape or cork. Reply I got from Brattons was the supplier no longer includes a rubber gasket because of issues. My question is did anyone else run into this recently and what do you use? Nothing? Mayby the electrical tape or could you set it with silicone? I am not worried about a gasket to prevent leakage but more to protect the glass edge as was stated in instructions" important to cover glass edge". Thank You.
