Default Correct Tie rod Length for 28 Tudor

Started working on the front end of my 28 and noticed that the tie rod has a slight bend in it. I am thinking that replacing the tie rod is in order. I measured the tie rod and it is 42 7/8" long. The tie rod ends were adjusted almost all of the way down - that is, I doubt I could have turned them in another inch, but the new tie rods are all about 44". Any advice out there?

This was discussed on the old fordbarn. As pointed out in the Service Bulletins the steering arms were changed and with this change the tie rod length was changed. These are not real hard to find. I may still have one out at the farm, but will not be out there again til next week. Probably best to call Berts or someone else may have one also. Rod

Tie rods are easy to straighten, unless it's so bent that it has a kink in it. Original tie rods are hollow.
