mirror only for clock-mirror?
Hey guys,
I'm nearing the completion of the restoration of a nice '31 Vicky...doing the small stuff now. I'm looking for the mirror only for a clock mirror combo... I have a nice Kohler wind-up clock that is running nicely..just need the glass. Still have the glass that came with it but its losing it's silver. The glass is 6 1/4" x 2 9/16" x 3/16"....the hole for the clock (no silver) is 2". Anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get just the glass? |

I would think a good glass shop could cut and grind what you need.

Try looking in "V8" ford parts places.

Have your mirror re-silvered.
If the original glass is still in good shape, just have it re-silvered.
Many years ago I had Chaudron Glass & Mirror Co., Inc, in Baltimore, MD re-silver a water damaged antique mirror and they did a fine job and it was surprisingly cheap too. I think they have been in business for over 113 years in the US. Here is the link to their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Chaud...301767&sk=info I understand that other companies in the MD, DC, VA area offer re-silvering of glass, but they send the job to Chaudron in the end. Fordially, Brad in Maryland PS: I'm not affiliated in anyway with Chaudron Glass & Mirror other than being a satisfied customer many years ago. |

JDempsy: By the way, how is the clock attached to the mirror? My buddy has a '31 Vicky and took the clock out some months ago to have it repaired. Well, now that it's fixed, we can't recall how the heck it's held in. A photo would really help.

There is a clamp with a hole for the clock. It clamps to the top and bottom of the glass pressing the clock against the back of the glass. John |

Re: mirror only for clock-mirror?
I sent my mirror clock to Bert's Model A in Denver and they sent it to somebody that replaced the mirror using my original clock.
