Default 1932 Ford RPU door hinges

Im gathering parts for my ’32 rpu build and
wondering what door hinges should i look for?

Did rpu’s/open cab pickups use ’32 roadster or
pickup hinges or did they come with something else?

Thanks,
Viktor

The B-76600, 76601, 76602, and 76603 hinges are unique, not carried over from Model A and not used on any other '32 body type. One reason for that is that unlike all other body types, including the closed cab bodies, the hinges mount on the outside surface of the cowl-side door opening, as shown in the photo below.

Another likely reason is the hinges' placement on the door and cowl. For example, while the bottom hinge on a phaeton/roadster door appears to be in about the same location vertically as that on a open cab, the upper hinge is located below that of an open cab. Without modification to account for the different placements vertically, the doors would not operate properly.

Ok thanks!

I wonder what could be the next closest
match to modify to work. Maybe 32 roadster
hinges? Or truck?

The challenge with your door hinges, in addition to providing reasonable gaps on the front side and bottom of the door when closed, is that the hinge pins must line up vertically or the door will bind up when closing/opening.

Because the back of the doors overlaps the quarter panel like a Model A roadster, etc. you are at least spared having to worry too much about the fit at the rear of the door.

I suspect that you will go through a lot of trial and error before you are done.
