Default Brake drums

Good evening. First, I have give a big shout out to Randy Gross. He really does do great work. I received my hubs and drums back today. They look great and he is, in my opinion, very reasonable on price for his services. Thanks again Randy!!
My question to all your pros out there is , now that I have my drums done, do I paint just the outside of the drums, or inside and outside? And, what kind of paint. Or, primer and paint. Thank you all in advance.

While I don't use Randy's drums, the process should be the same. We wipe down the outside of the drum & hub with wax& grease remover, then mediablast the exterior to crate a slight texture. We then spray a thin coat of catalyzed epoxy, and as soon as that has flashed we come overtop of the epoxy with one coat of gloss 2k urethane paint. Years later, the drums still look fresh and no blistering. Personally, we don't care about the interior, but that could be painted too. We install races after painting and cleanup, and any overspray on the lining surface gets removed during the machining process to true the drum to the hub.

And I would not paint the "friction" surface, but everything else.

Blue "Painter's tape" works - and doesn't leave the trace adhesive like duct or masking tape.
