Help identify stainless steel parts
Can someone please tell me what vehicle these stainless steel parts are for?
They turned up in a box of miscellaneous parts I aquired at a swap meet. Dimensions on the photos. (Sorry they're upside down. Tried rotating the photos on iPad but it has a mind of it own?) Thanks for your help Last edited by Rusty Debris; 08-26-2017 at 11:08 AM. Reason: Photos upside down |

Too narrow for '36.

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
Measurements match those from 1935 hood side panel trim, but better quality pictures would help to confirm.

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
Thanks for your help folks. Any more ideas are welcome.
If it's of any consequence, there are 11 of these ss pieces and look to have come off the same vehicle all at once. There are faint traces of black paint on both edges of 7 pieces only. The '35 hood side panel trim suggestion looks close but they look to have 4 trim pieces on each side panel, (which may or may be relevant for this case.) I appreciate your feedback and head scratching. Rusty |

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
Capt Kirk,
Thanks for your reply. Yes, the stainless pieces are more like 29 5/8 inches long. Could there be any other application for these trim pieces other than the '35 Cab? Your help is appreciated. Rusty |

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
I would have thought someone just had 11 of them because that's what they found or had, maybe 8 came off the same hood but whoever had them had 3 as spares? they wouldn't all come off the same car - they were maybe fitted to the same car at one point or another though.

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
I wouldn't suspect that the number of them has any correlation to what they come off of since they were purchased loose. I'm not an expert but would imagine that all 35's with that same style hood have the same trim pieces. Probably not specific to Cabriolets but specific to 35 cars.

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
Hi Everyone, Rusty, I'm not much of a parts guy, but I recognize those. As others have said, trim for the side panels of any model of '35 car hood. Photo from the EFV-8 Club book by Don Rogers https://www.earlyfordv8.org/Shop.cfm?id=18&pid=2

Re: Help identify stainless steel parts
Hello Barners and greetings from Minneapolis. Thanks to everyone for helping identify the ss trim pieces question. Very Tangled (there must be a story there) deserves a "hats off" too. Any ideas of a fair asking price at the Barn or eBay for 11 of these pieces?
These trim pieces are for cars only, no trucks, but on Hemings there are two '35 panels for sale, one with these trim pieces and one with louvers in the side panels. Go figure. Your help is appreciated. Rusty |
