Default Sun Distributor Machine

I have a Sun Distributor Machine Model 400. Everything seems to work with the exception of the Tach Meter. I. Checked the Meter with a volt ohm meter and it test okay. Was wondering if anyone would have a copy of the wiring diagram for that machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks very much.

Has it been sitting for awhile..new to you?
My tack needle sticks from time to time and I've owned it 35+ years. When the machine
is running, and HOOKED UP CORRECTLY use a small screw driver too move the needle.
It should work..

BTW..I've done hundreds of distributors, Model A's also,..I know my machine..

Open it up.. I believe there's a battery inside in that model.
Replace the battery (may be corroded). Just a couple of C-cell flashlight batteries if I remember. Tach will work again.

OOPs - mine is a SnapOn, you said Sun. Sorry. Disregard

As far as I know the 400 has batteries also, but not the 404.

I think they also had a AA battery, this is from the Paramount web site.

Battery Replacement Circuit Board - $150.00

This circuit board is designed to eliminate the AA and D cell batteries that run your rpm and dwell meters in models 400, 500, and 600.

The machine does have one D cell and 1 AA Battery. Both batteries are good.
Still no Tach readings. Thanks to all for the help. I'll keep trying. Wish I could get a Scematic for it. Thanks,
Bob

Bob, check your email. Let me know if you got the manual section.

You can work the pots for the tach calibration in case they are dirty ... it'll mess up what ever calibration you have ... machine needs re-calibration anyhow.

You can also post over on the Barn V8 side. Some guys there that tinker and may have had tach problems. Mine have just been poor contacts.
