Default Early V8 Thread

Interesting thread ref. LeBaron Bonney Interior, and service/production
problems that were (are being) experienced. I ordered a complete kit in
Feb. this year, still not shipped, and not completely sure if it's in the
production phase. Hoping for the best, just a bit dis-heartened after
reading the recent post. Has there been a similar situation within the
"A" group.?

I ordered in January of this year. The S-1 fabric for the lower seats and trim panels is not available. It's been refused by the company 2x for wrong colors.

Last week I finally substituted the 2-LM fabric for the S-1, it is a wool broadcloth, and actually a higher quality than the S-1.

This will never be a points car, only a driver so I hope it works out.

They have lost a lot of experienced craftsmen during the past several years. Note that many youthful folks have great skills but not "experience". Some of the older guys knew what was what; perhaps didn't pass it on quickly enough to their successors.

Heard this a lot about LB and many other suppliers. Nothing is like it "used to be".

Another thing.....if there are good parts that you know you will need in the future, do not procrastinate. Some of this stuff may never be made again. If an economic order quantity to make or buy is 500 and the estimated demand is 50....guess what it won't be made again!! One item I specifically recall was Rootlieb 31 molded boards. They were out and the vulcanizer was lost. Took them years to get back in production and the cost was almost 3x.
