I see your plight ...

EDIT -

Do you by any chance have the old starter out? If so, do you see any ID NOS on the case?

That's OK ...

From what I can decipher in the old MPC(S), they are not the same. But NDP gives a listing using either ENGINEERING ID NO. -

Quote:
STARTER, REBUILT, 12 VOLT, 5.75 INCH SHAFT, 3 MOUNTING EARS, LESS BENDIX

Manufacturer Reference #'s: 93501, FAR-11002-A, B6A-11002-A, FAR-11002-B, C3NF-11002-E, PB6M-11002-A
Both used the same starter drive.

Maybe give them a call for clarification. I hate to give you incorrect info.

I never worked on one as they were considered rich man's cars ...

I see Schmidt actually did have the testicular fortitude to quit over the atrocity Ford wanted to commit on the Lincoln. Good for him!

You are more than welcome. Wish I could have given you a more definitive answer.

If and when you find the answer, can you post it to this thread? It is a missing factoid that will haunt me until I find out ...

In Post No 4, I showed you pictures of my 1956 Lincoln Premiere 2 door hardtop which I reluctantly had to sell. The good news is that this is the same car now, looking like a million dollars. The new owner has done me proud.

Unless you find the answer on a LINC FORUM, you will probably have to get what is shown below (CD) -
