Would anyone have knowledge of a repo.1932 Ford Delco speedometer face plate ?..the Stewart Warner version is available from several sources but will not interchange with a Delco unit.

Don't think Delco faces were ever repoped.Contact Don at Baxter Ford in KS.They rebuild and service speedo's and might have an extra.

Some one may be able to silk screen an old original out there. If the dial size and shape aren't too complicated, it could be reproduced. Most work of this type is in the one off category so a person needs to find a guy that will do that and take the pains of getting it correct.

Find somebody with a computer and a graphics program. The black and white face would be easy to reproduce but getting the correct font for the name could be a problem.

(I did my gauges using a $25 Print House program. The Ford name isn't perfect but its pretty close.)

Here is mine in France. I sent you an email of another.It has KPH at the bottom.Mine does not.Sent also to your email a pic one in a 34 Cabriolet near me and its a Jaeger with Ford script but no KPH.The trip is on top and odo below.

Here is a Delco that is in my 32K 5 window. Nothing on the face but does say Delco on the rear. It has a black case as stated in the Rehor book.

This Pic I took is from an original unmolested V8 32 Roadster in France.The Gaz knob must have been for the choke. Dash light knob is in english.This car still has the orig 32 V8 in it.

I opened the image in a new tab and enlarged it as big as I could. It isn't exaclly clear, but I wouldn't be surprised if it said "FRANCE".

Edit: You can read the "FRANCE" tag much more clearly on the other pics posted.

Image on left clearly says "France".They show up at swap meets here.I was always looking for a '33-'34 which I found by placing a wanted ad in "prewarcars.com"

Thanks to every one for your Photos. Even being a 50 year Deuce owner the Kilo Speedo is a new one on me. I should have assumed Export 32 Fords as having one because I have 1966 French Mustang that was shipped back to the USA and that has the 200 Kilo Speedo.
Does anyone have a 1932 Kilo Speedo to sell?

A friend owns a sign shop and has done several speedometer faces for old motorcycles. The process starts with a used face that is somewhat readable or a good quality color photo and a unreadable face (for the size) . Then scans it into his computer when it can be edited.

Old photos can also be enhanced or edited and reprinted to near photo quality.

Given the placement of the opening for the odometer, it's a Stewart Warner speedometer (before they starting having their name on the face).

Initially all domestic North American '32s had 80 mph speedometers, four or V8, passenger car, commercial vehicle, or big truck. The U.S speedometers were made by Delco, Stewart Warner, and Waltham. The earliest versions from each manufacturer lacked their name on the face and only the Stewart Warner and Waltham versions eventually added their name to the face of their speedometers.

The housings on the back of the speedometers were different. Those on a Delco were painted black while the housings of the Stewart Warner and Waltham speedometers were cadmium plated. The back of the Waltham speedometer was flat (smooth) while that of the Stewart Warner had raised convex ribs in the stamping.

The change from 80 mph to 90 mph took place in late May, 1932 with any 80 mph versions left in inventory to be used up on fours, commercial vehicles, and big trucks. As a result of that practice and the late release of the V8 engine in commercial vehicles and big trucks, some have concluded that all fours were equipped with the 80 mph versions and all V8s were equipped with the 90 mph versions, which was not the case. Early V8s had 80 mph speedometers and late fours had 90 mph speedometers.
