Default new question-coil

Picked up the IH-200 capacitor today, NAPA didn't have a coil.
I've searched but didn't come up with a definitive answer, and on line search didn't help.
I'm looking for a stock 6volt coil(no internal resistor) for a 48 f/head. I want one so I can send the one on it now to Skip.
I also need shipping info for Skip.
Thanks again for the help.

You want a ~ 1.5 ohm coil for use without a ballast resistor on a 6v system or ~ 0.7 with a ballast resistor. If it is the stock setup with the ballast resistor under the dash, then the 0.7 ohm coil is what you need. You will most likely have a bit of a difficult time finding a 0.7 ohm 6v coil at a local parts house.

Here is my suggestion, temporally by-pass the original ballast resistor and run a 3.0 ohm coil. This site will give you all of the cross reference part numbers for a 3.0 coil.

I have a brown Ford logo coil that was rebuilt by Skip. Still in the box from Skip, never used as I just keep it for a spare. If interested, PM me.

Why not just wait to get your coil back from Skip? It will only be a week or so.

Ordered a coil last night. This is a 40 with a supposedly 48 engine which has had the coil moved to the LH head and is similar to a Model A's. Looking at Skip's website this doesn't look like what he rebuilds.

Thanks everyone.
Going to be venturing out again Sunday to a show in Seymour, CT put on by the Lion's Club for many, many, many years.

The 46 to 48 coils are what you want with the Ford mounting bracket. G.M.
