Default fordbarn member, Dick Cape Cod, goes drag racing

The first nostalgia drag racing event of the season, at Epping Dragway in NH, was yesterday. Dick Cape Cod (Dick Kiusalas), gave me a call asking if I wanted to go to Epping and help out. I had a family commitment in NH, but decided to bring my grandchildren to see Dick race his vintage, flathead powered dragster. Dick had two good time trials before I had to leave for the family lobster boil, so I don't know how he did during eliminations. I'll let Dick fill in the blanks.

Brings back a lot of memories. Raced there in the late sixties. Don't forget to post the results.

Thanks Paul, I didn't know you would post so many pics. Great shots!
Yes I had 2 good time trial runs, First run was 11.36 @118 mph and 2nd run was 11.40 @ 116 mph ,Oh by the way that's on 95 octane gas. I lost to the Spere Bros. in the final run. They did a 10.70 @ 120 mph on steroids...Better known as nitro-methane. Oh well, Like I always say...
A bad day drag racing beats a good day fishing. I suppose a few fishermen will chime in here. I can take it.
Otherwise it was a BEAUTIFUL day. My pit crew did a great job. Next race is the last SUNDAAAAY in July. I only wish more Barners in N.E. raced flat heads....AS a matter of fact, I'm going to sell my old Scotty Fenn K-88 (98") dragster. Built in 1961. I raced it up until 5 years ago.
If anybody is interested, contact me @ [email protected]

I should be younger and richer. Then I'd spot you a 1/2 mile head start for a 1/4 mile drag. So There. And you'd have to give me that cam back.
