42 Grille on a 47 Ford
Will a 42 Ford Tudor grille easily fit on a 47 Ford Tudor or do I have to change the hood and fenders?

Fenders will work other than the parking light location; but the hood and much of the other sheet metal is different. Probably best to have a complete '42 clip to work with.

Re: 42 Grille on a 47 Ford
I did the opposite once. I used a front clip off a 42 ford on a 47 ford convertible. The parking lights were different. The grill, i took out the entire 42 and bolted the 47 right in. But there were a few more bolts that held the 42 grill in. Didnt matter cause it was a hotrod. As for a 42 hood they are pretty hard to find , its a one year only hood that custom guys liked to use because it was smooth.

Re: 42 Grille on a 47 Ford
I had a 42 hood that I was going to use on my 48 hot rod, but sold the car before I used the hood. I tried to sell the hood for several years, and finally did. It was the same shape as the 48, without the hump in the center.

Re: 42 Grille on a 47 Ford
I thought the 42 hood was narrower towards the front similar to the 41.
