Default kingpins

Haven't been on this Barn or the other one, all Summer. Too many road trips (not really a problem) in my AV8. Around 4,000 miles so far.

I've been going over the car this last week and found play in the kingpins. When I pulled the spindle off, I put the kingpin into the axle and found some play there too. How much play is acceptable? If none, what are my options to correct it without spending weeks trying to find another axle with no play?

I must have had a brain fade. I re-installed the kingpin, without the spindle, installed the lock pin and tightened it. Zero play. Guess I panicked when I put the kingpin in halfway and felt some play. There wasn't even any play before I tightened the lock pin.
