As per the previous answer, yes, it's between the 3rd and 5th. Seriously though, the 4th is for USA's independence, not Australia's or NZ's. Our national day, Australia day, is the 26th of January. I think the Kiwi's celebrate their national day, Waitangi day, on the 6th February. In Australia, we're more laid back about it, and it is more about new citizens receiving their citizenship papers, but then any excuse for a BBQ and a beer, and we're happy.

My wife and I will be visiting and touring the Revolutionary War Battlefield in Yorktown, Virginia where our independence was won. It is within 10 miles of our home. It is a place of great respect and reverence to us since many American and French troops are buried there. We visit it quite often in our Model A Ford.

Taking Sophie ('28 Sport Coupe), out for an early morning breakfast then smoke a pork butt for 11 hours while I repack her front wheel bearings and thank the God for living in this great country!

I'm driving the 28 Tudor, son is driving the 41 Tudor with about 35-40 other club members in the annual 4th of July parade, in Pasco, WA. Afterwards, choice of a half dozen picnics and BBQ's, followed by watching fireworks.

Most of the members of the Model A Club, belong to this club also. The city wants a special insurance rider, which is ridiculous and costs quite a bit of money. The Model A Club would rather save the money for other things. This is the only city that requires the special insurance rider for cars. Never mind insurance on the horses that get spooked and stomp on a few spectators.

Nope, our private vehicle insurance is no longer acceptable.

Dave Please explain "new citizens receiving their citizenship papers"
It is a concept that is not understood in the US.

Reflecting on the history of our Great Country. I am a very very distant relative of George Clymer;one of only five people who signed the Declaration Of Independence and The Constitution. We will also participate in the Bandon 4th of July parade and celebration.

Visiting cemeteries where late family members have been laid to rest.
Kind of a tradition, early morning 4th.

Had a good time at the parade. Approx 50k were supposed to watch us go by. Brought some smiles to peoples faces. Of course we had to follow these guys. How can one expect to keep up with them?
