Default 1931 Sedan Rear Fender - Dimple Die

City: Frenchtown Twnshp
State: MI
Price: In Ad

This is a die for making the dimple in the rear fender skirt. If you have a model that uses the sedan rear fender after March 1931 but you have a 1930 to early 1931 fender, this die can make the dimple. The change occurred when the 160 body series came out (slant window sedans) to clear the body rivets. But it was used on all appropriate models (400A, Vicky, Tudor, standard phaeton, etc.).

It is actually a female die for a Ford body panel in the 1980's and happens to be the same size. You clamp it in the correct position on the fender skirt and use a small ball-pein hammer to work the steel into the die (the hammer is not included). After some filing and filler, you have the conversion. $50 plus shipping.

One pictured fender has the conversion.
