If you want a T-5 and don't mind an open driveshaft....

I would go for the Chevy T-5 because of the gear ratios. The F-150 has a nice split between 1st and 2nd, and 3rd and 4th but the 2-3 shift is huge.

The 2-3 shift is essentially the same as a Model A transmission, isn't it?

Thanks everyone. I want to go with the ford set up because I want to keep the closed drive shaft.

You will not be disappointed. My Ranger 4 sped works great. Copy on the closed drive line.

Modification of the cross member is necessary for this swap.

Using Dave’s kit there’s no cutting or drilling except the wood floor board. It’s a complete bolt on kit.

x2 with Carl.

Daves kit is a first-class fit and goes in easy. For those of you that want to stay with the original look with no cutting, this is the kit.

Because the gear shift is moved about 1-1/2 inches towards the rear, the floor board hole must be moved. If you have carpets them you need a new carpet.

The only thing I wish this kit had is a 5th gear.

CarlG, yes that split is about the same as Model A. Steve Serr of Miller hi-speed makes a closed drive line adapter for the T-5.
